Last Friday more or less saw the closure of a hectic period at my workplace. I already do not remember when I had a good night's sleep since AA06 ended. Whatever...
Happy Hours just seem to go really worng all the time with the presence of this new big boss. My first experience of course was with the "not-so-happy-hour", and the reader may find my sentiments articulated in the previous posts. This time, well, it probably wasn't as succesful as the last, perhaps due to my mismanagement, but truly, may I lament on a few stinging factors:
1) Last Minute Reception.
I clearly remember planning way ahead for the event, and the booking of the venue was done through the "vice-president" of the committee at least 2 weeks in advance. What's the point of coming out with a booking system when someone of a higher rank can just walk in 5 minutes before your event and declare the place for his impromptu reception? And so, the intended 1 hour early knock off was dragged to a 30 minute late release. Who's honestly going to be happy with that?
2) The snowball continues...
Since I had to postpone the commencement time, I had to postpone the dinner reception too, and idstorting delivery schedules at the last moment often result in even later deliveries, so the dinner was late as well.
3) Staff Poaching
I am going to fuck the idiot, whoever he was (must be one of those obsolete workers), for poaching my Emcee at the last minute for some photo-shoot. God damn it! ANYBODY living in this era should be able to operate a digital camera! And you are not taking artistic shots for god's sake. And you take my staff without even asking!
Well anyways the event went on after an hour's delay. Hope it wasn't too much of a mess. Of course I will not be able to please everyone, considering the diverse age group and range of personal interests. Nevertheless, at least it proceeded smoothly and what has to be given out was given out.
Gotta do the accounts when I get back to office :)
