  • The Kicks of Using your Brain
    Thursday, December 14, 2006

Apart from dedicating the majority of my brain cells to the drafting and development of my various business ideas, I dedicate a small portion of it, on a casual basis, to calculus.

For those who know me personally, it might seem to be an unexpected claim, from someone who hated math lessons in school. The truth is, while I am very much at a loss with theory and symbols, I truly love the subject as its core. In fact, math used to be my best subject back in primary school.

Anyways, the calculus I am speaking of here is more logic than numeric. I have tried, over a couple of occasions (when there is the “feeling”), to come out with counter-systems to many forms of gambling. I also apply these logical systems to my personal spiritual studies.

Months ago I came up with a system that won 800 rounds straight on the online casino. I actually hatched this system back in Genting, while trying to have some fun with numbers. Most would be entirely excited with such “discoveries”, but personally I was quite lost.

Perhaps it was morals and the general perception that we shouldn’t reap rewards without hard work, perhaps wealth was really not a question in my mind then. Anyways, after withdrawing about 1000 USD winnings via neteller, I stopped using the system and went back to my daily life and business endeavours.

Though the system was so-called “proven”, I was personally not convinced of its perfection, as it failed to remove the house edge and thus would not really suffice for the long haul. It still held a 0.003% failure possibility. 800 rounds was perhaps more luck than proof.

I have since then, at the expense of much of my free time, researched on both the net and various libraries / bookstores, to develop a system that consistently beats the house edge, one that could ensure winnings in the long run, say a million rounds.

The web is full of rubbish. Most teach you progressive betting, techniques to spot the wheel bias, and some hybrid versions. They attempt to sell this crap for money, but truly, if anybody were to own such systems, why the hell would they need to make a living selling it?

Anyways, I stumbled upon one site, which thus far, is the only encounter that does not involve a mere sales pitch, but rather really lengthy illustrations of theory and physics and principles. What captured me was that this fella actually took a live video, and a rather convincing one that showed the effectiveness of his system, and it’s consistency in triumphing over the house edge.

His system is also the most expensive I have seen – 5000 bucks and a compulsory personal training session of 3 hours. Of course, for every claimant out there, there will be critics, this fella was not spared. It is however, the reader’s discretion to take or leave the idea.

I took it. I mean if there’s really a way, it’s a waste if we just leave it. Of course, this guy doesn’t live on our little island state, and I do not really have the time to meet him overseas, so the only other option is to base the concept on his very lengthy website, and develop my own system.

It took a couple of hours and some fine-tuning to get the beta version up, and even then I was still skeptical, till I actually tried it. I logged on to a live table on some online casino, and did about 80 rounds of qualifications before starting the test.

I’m now 20 turns into the test (yes I am running the test with live money and a live table right now). The results are as follows:

    14 wins, 6 losses

    Amount won – 144 units.

By the way, my starting bankroll is 20 units.

Its really quite an adrenaline rush, so see with one’s own eyes how the system actually works, and why nobody actually tried looking at such an obvious conceptual flaw (then again, I used to be one of those idiots). Just to add, the dealers were changed in the middle of the game, so dealer’s signature is out of the question.

At this point, I must conclude that facts are really spawned from beliefs. As the saying goes, what’s considered science now was once upon a time considered magic. If you are truly convinced about an idea, it’s probably already an unfounded fact. Proving it isn’t an easy process, but when you’re finally there, I must say it’s definitely worth the while.

And please don’t bother asking me for the system. Didn’t reveal my previous one, and I’m not just about to reveal this one. In fact, I probably won’t use it on a regular basis, for a couple of reasons:

    - I’m already blacklisted by the online casino I ripped 800 consecutive wins off.

    - This shit is obsessive. And I have no wish to have my latest venture fail because of over-indulgence.

    - There isn’t a real casino here on our island state (though there will be a few real soon). I still don’t fully trust online casinos (some have the habit of defaulting on payment, and the withdrawal process is extremely troublesome).

Even then, it’s good to know that if one day I am really broke, there’s this one last way out J
